Show Trials: The Neocon Prisoners Dilemma.

Abu Anas al-Liby, real name: Nazih Abdul-Hamed al-Ruqai, 50, died on Friday [2nd Jan 2015], following complications from liver surgery.

The U.S. alleged that he was involved in the planning of the 1998 embassy attacks in Kenya and Tanzania, which killed 244 people, injuring thousands more.

Whilst In absentia, he along with several others [IMPORTANT], were indicted by a New York grand jury in 2000 - under spurious and circumstantial evidence:

• That he had taken pictures of the embassy in 1993. [Who judges the Judges photographs?]: links him to a terrorist operation - Five-Years later. 

Consider this, World Socialist Web Site [WSWS], in 1998 reported that another man was witnessed videoing the embassy - just four days before the bombing:

A security guard working near the Nairobi embassy saw a man videotaping the building, protected by two bodyguards.

The report from WSWS, also highlighted how the U.S. received a further warning from an informant in Kenya, two weeks before the blast that the Nairobi embassy had been targeted for a bomb attack: 

The informant was a contact of Israel's Mossad intelligence service, but when American officials checked with Mossad about the reliability of the source, they were advised to treat the report with skepticism. No special security measures were taken at the embassy.

On a circumstantial level, you could argue there is a greater connection between Mossad and the event, than al-Liby, but that didn't stop his name getting added to the FBI's list of "most wanted terrorists".

A 'Show Trial' was set for the 12th of January, in NYC. 

This follows from his abduction from Libya, by CIA, FBI and U.S. Army's elite Delta Force, Oct, 2013.

  

Mr Liby, had previously pleaded not guilty to terrorism charges.   

His wife, accused the U.S. government of:

“kidnapping, mistreating, and killing an innocent man”

Well, that has never happened before - CIA rendition of innocent men. Oh wait...


Hassan Mustafa Osama Nasr - In the lead up to the illegal and immoral Iraq war of 2003, he campaigned against the invasion and occupation of Iraq - next minute, CIA abducted him in Italy - rendered him to Egypt - an express delivery service for state torture. 

or the case of:

Jamil el-Banna, arrested by Gambian authorities, detained and interrogated by US agents, rendered to Afghanistan and then Guantánamo Bay - all while having refugee status in the UK.  

Back to Mr Liby, If you read the machinery of the corporate media - take AP report - type tired, low on facts report - pass around newsrooms - write more tired reports - really just PR journalism for the security services -- yes you Guardian, BBC, et al, then you wouldn't see the significance of this story. 

When you start contextualizing the reports over many years - it hits you - The War on Terror is bullshit: it's really a War on Reality. 

Take above PDF indictment. The opening introduction on the origins and Background of Al Qaeda, claims: 

'The "mekhtab al khidemat" (the "Services Office") organization which had maintained offices in various parts of the world, including Afghanistan, Pakistan (particularly in Peshawar)and the United States, particularly at the Alkifah Refugee Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The group was founded by defendants USAMA BIN LADEN and MUHAMMAD ATEF, a/k/a "Abu Hafs al Masry," together with "Abu Ubaidah al Banshiri" and others. From in or about 1989 until the present, the group called itself "al Qaeda" ("the Base").

A known falsehood: "al Qaeda" ("theBase") was a name given by the CIA. 

The late MP Robin Cook in the Guardian [2005] wrote: 

'Bin Laden was, though, a product of a monumental miscalculation by western security agencies. Throughout the 80s he was armed by the CIA and funded by the Saudis to wage jihad against the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. Al-Qaida, literally "the database", was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians'.

The germinal of Al Qaeda, was the CIA and the Mujahadeen in 1979. It has been admitted by Hillary Clinton

No mention of Osama Bin Laden being Tim Osman [CIA asset] wonder how that would have played out in 2015 grand jury trial?

Q: The former director of the CIA, Robert Gates, stated in his memoirs ["From the Shadows"], that American intelligence services began to aid the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan 6 months before the Soviet intervention. In this period you were the national security adviser to President Carter. You therefore played a role in this affair. Is that correct?

Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise: Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 

According to the Terrorism Research and Analysis Consortium [TRAC] the "mekhtab al khidemat" [MAK] had direct links with the CIA and ISI in Pakistan.

Could the war on terror, simply be a Gladio fantasy - neo-imperialism masquerading as terrorism? Well considering the above, we see the CIA has been integral in the formation, planning, financing and outreach of international terrorism.

Would it be too much speculation to suggest those that those who - are - were - and will be hunted: are former associates, sub contractors, [if you will] for the security and military industrial complex? 

Well, According to a Human Rights Watch document, Mr Liby got detained by the CIA, in 2002 - when the indictment had been from 2000:

'In February 2002, al-Libi, a national of Libya, was reportedly apprehended in Khartoum, Sudan, after which there were reportedly negotiations between U.S. and Sudanese officials to complete al-Libi’s handover to U.S. custody... 

No information about al-Libi’s fate has been released by the U.S. government, and his whereabouts remain unknown'.

This can be further explained, after reading History Commons connections between British Intelligence Services and Al-Qaeda, who were involved in a plot to assassinate then Libyan Leader, Mu’ammar al-Qadhafi:

According to David Shayler, a member of the British intelligence agency MI5, and Jean-Charles Brisard and Guillaume Dasquié, authors of the controversial book The Forbidden Truth, the British intelligence agency MI6 pays al-Qaeda the equivalent of $160,000 to help fund this assassination attempt. Shayler later goes to prison for revealing this information and the British press is banned from discussing the case. 

Anas al-Liby, a member of the group, is given political asylum in Britain and lives there until May 2000 despite suspicions that he is an important al-Qaeda figure.

Now, you may have forgotten how at the start of this piece I said several others [IMPORTANT], were indicted along with Mr Liby, well that brings us on to another peculiar case: defendant, Adel Abdul Bary, 54, who plead guilty in September 2014.

Mr Bary was originally charged based on disputed evidence that documents claiming responsibility for the bombings were recovered from his office with his fingerprints on them. Defense lawyers say the government has conceded it cannot confirm when the faxes were sent or when Bary touched the faxes, transferring his fingerprints to them.

According to defense lawyers, Bary sought asylum in the United Kingdom in 1991 after joining a team of Egyptian lawyers who traveled to New York to represent El Sayyid Nosair in the Manhattan hotel killing of extremist Rabbi Meir Kahane.

Bary was arrested in connection with the bombings in September 1998 by United Kingdom authorities and again in July 1999, when he was charged by U.S. prosecutors. He was extradited to New York in October 2012.

So at worst, he was a Secretary, for an organisation, run by the CIA and for that, he accepted a plea deal that would see him serve 25 years in prison.

The reason I raise this point, is due to the attention his son, Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary, 23, has been receiving for his portrayal of
"Jihadi john".
